Sourdough Breakfast Sandwich

 

Ingredients:

– 2 sourdough English muffins, split
– 4 eggs
– 4 slices of bacon or sausage patties
– 4 slices of cheese (cheddar, Swiss, or your preference)
– Butter or oil for frying
– Salt and pepper to taste
– Optional toppings: sliced avocado, tomato, spinach, hot sauce

Instructions:

1. Cook the Bacon or Sausage: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until crispy or the sausage patties until browned and cooked through. Remove from the skillet and set aside on paper towels to drain excess grease.

2. Prepare the Eggs: In the same skillet, melt a little butter or add oil. Crack the eggs into the skillet, keeping them separate. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Cook the eggs to your preferred level of doneness (fried, scrambled, or poached).

3. Toast the English Muffins: While the eggs are cooking, toast the split sourdough English muffins until golden brown.

4. Assemble the Sandwiches: Place a slice of cheese on the bottom half of each toasted English muffin. Top with a cooked egg, followed by a slice of bacon or a sausage patty. Add any optional toppings you desire, such as sliced avocado, tomato, or spinach. Finish with the top half of the English muffin.

Serve: Serve the sourdough breakfast sandwiches immediately while warm.
